Sussex Events kicks off the Festival Season with MILOS MR2K

         

Event production company, Sussex Events kicked off the festival season in style with their new MILOS MR2K 12 x 10 Roof System and Layher Event Deck System, which debuted at the Land Beyond Festival, Brighton. The event delivered a jam-packed weekend of unchartered adventure and music to mark the first Bank Holiday of the year in the popular south coast seaside town. 


 
With Area Four Direct UK now working closely with Layher as a Technical Partner, it was the perfect opportunity to supply, design and configure a complete roof system with the Layher Event Deck base to maximise the roof’s potential. This technical partnership meant that we could also offer a comprehensive pre-build training package for both systems on the same day.
 
The highly anticipated Land Beyond Festival returned to the picturesque Waterhall venue with its 2024 ‘Unchartered’ theme which promised an extraordinary experience for festival-goers which included awe-inspiring installations, immersive encounters and a stellar line-up of musical acts.  
 
The three-day event transformed the Waterhall site into a vibrant ‘otherworldly’ landscape, offering 10,000 music fans a chance to explore uncharted territory through cutting-edge production and stage design.  This year’s event saw an eclectic mix of genres from electronic beats, drum & bass to house, from emerging artists and DJs to renowned headliners such as Craig David, Rudimental, Example and Sigala.  
 
Sussex Events based in Hailsham, East Sussex has managed the festival production onsite for several years and has seen the festival grow considerably with the addition of the ‘camping village’ this year offering festival-goers the perfect retreat for those who wanted to stay close to the action!  
 
With the upscale in many outdoor client events, it was the perfect time to invest in the MILOS MR2K roof system, enhancing production capabilities for their upcoming events and festivals. The advanced roofing solution represents the latest in event technology ensuring superior performance, safety and flexibility for a wide range of live outdoor productions.

The MILOS MR2K roof system is renowned for its robustness, versatility, and ease of assembly, making it the ideal choice for large-scale events.  With a maximum load capacity of 3 tons plus PA Wings, the MR2K can support extensive lighting rigs, sound systems and intricate stage designs. This key investment allows Sussex Events to deliver even more spectacular and immersive experiences for their clients and their ongoing commitment to providing top-tier event production services, enhancing experiences with improved stage aesthetics and functionality. The build also incorporated two 6x4 MILOS LSGO LED screen support structures on either side of the stage with full video projection and live stage feed during the event.
 
Sussex Events prides itself on great customer service and an inventory of production equipment spanning staging, trussing, sound and lighting which contributes to a hectic schedule of summer festivals, coupled with corporate and theatre work which keeps them busy all year round.  The MILOS MR2K roof system will be back on the road over the summer months when the Sussex Events team will be delivering production for Kisstory in Norwich in June, a 3-day festival at Rochester Castle in July where UB40 and The Kaiser Chiefs will be headlining, followed by Uptown in Cardiff later in the season. 
The Sussex Events team are already back in planning with the organisers for Land Beyond 2025 as it continues to establish itself as a premier event in the UK’s festival scene when it returns with more surprises and an even bigger line-up next year!
