Area Four Industries Sponsors 2025 TPi Awards, whilst EXE FLEXA Dynamic Sets the Standard for Load Monitoring
The Area Four Industries team enjoyed the buzz, glitz and jubilation for a fantastic night of recognition and networking at the annual TPi Awards held on 24
th
February 2025. Evolution London brought together the live touring community to honour outstanding individuals and companies, showcasing the best creative and technical achievements in live entertainment over the past year.
Produced by Total Production International - TPi Magazine, part of Mondiale Media, the event attracted over 1800 industry professionals who descended on Evolution to recognise amazing accolades across various disciplines in live production. This year’s exciting theme of ‘Tropical Jungle’ was super vibrant, colourful and focussed on bright, eye-catching visuals, which created a stunning backdrop and warm tropical welcome from the moment you entered the venue.

Area Four Industries was delighted to support this year’s event as a key supplier providing the latest advanced load monitoring equipment to ensure precise control, and real-time load status of the complex TPi Awards two LED Screens by deploying EXE FLEXA Dynamic and Real-Time load monitoring solutions which were used for the duration of the event.
A4IUK’s Head of Automation – Matt Millward worked closely with Encore’s Director of Project Management - Tom Ring. Encore, being the in-house production supplier at Evolution London and TPi Awards sponsor, in turn worked with Go To Live to co-ordinate full technical delivery of the project. Encore provided rigging, staging and installation of the lighting fixtures supplied by Robe who delivered their incredible lighting design and operation on the night. PRG were responsible for all the onsite screens and video production, whilst Sound of Music provided the audio.
x12 EXE FLEXA Dynamic load cells monitored two complex LED screen installations under the watchful eye of both Encore and PRG, whilst x12 EXE FLEXA Real-Time cells monitored the main lighting trusses suspended above the main bar area. The team were able to watch and record the entire rigging process pre-show and throughout the duration of the event.
Matthew Millward, Head of Automation – Area Four Direct UK said:
“When we were contacted by our good friends and Encore to assist with the load monitoring of some LED screens and lighting trusses for the TPi Awards 2025 it was a simple answer, yes! Ed Thornton and Tom Ring, our Encore contacts for the show were quick to jump the chance to use A4I’s new EXE FLEXA Dynamic load monitoring system. The concept was to monitor two very large LED screen structures on 12 points across two key areas in the main space.
With roof loading calculations that proved that the London Evolution structure could take the weight, Encore were looking for the peace of mind that only comes with the knowledge and assurance of the precise load on each point.
The FLEXA Dynamic platform gave the perfect flexibility required for monitoring these structures in real-time, during the installation, event and breakdown phases. The system was deployed on laptop and on mobile devices within the room, especially useful when balancing the loads and screen orientations and it performed flawlessly.”
Tom Ring – Director, Project Management – Encore added:
“It was great to work alongside Matt to provide a dynamic monitoring solution for the TPi Awards.
The design this year was pushing the weight capabilities of the structure to its limits so we needed to ensure that the lifting operation was smooth and within operational limits at all times.
The real-time weights from the load cells were overlayed onto a real plan that could be monitored on our own devices as the structure was lifted, whilst our lead rigger could also monitor these weights offsite. This really gave us the comfort that we needed to ensure a safe and quick installation within a very time pressured installation.”
Hosted by the popular comedian Emmanuel Sonubi for the second year, he kept the sell-out room entertained as he presented over 30 Awards covering various aspects of the industry from Trucking to Catering to Favourite Rehearsal Facility and the prestigious. TPi Green Award.
Area Four Industries was proud to sponsor the award for ‘Favourite Rigging Company’ presented by Area Four Direct UK’s Managing Director – Glen Brown which was won by northern-based rigging and production company, UK Rigging. In addition to sponsoring and supporting the technical production of the show, Area Four Direct UK and international colleagues enjoyed a fantastic evening with various guests from across the sector.
Theresa Gibson, Head of Marketing – Area Four Direct UK concludes:
“Area Four Industries was delighted to support the 2025 TPi awards and enjoy an amazing evening of celebrating the innovation and dedication that drive the live touring industry forward. It was great to have the opportunity to sponsor the Award for ‘Favourite Rigging Company’ and also support the event as a key supplier, providing EXE FLEXA Dynamic and Real-Time load monitoring solutions, enabling the team to keep a close eye on the data, with the ability to record the entire rigging process throughout the event.
The TPi Awards not only recognise technical excellence but also highlight the passion, resilience and outstanding achievements of the people behind the scenes. As industry leaders, we remain committed to providing cutting-edge solutions that empower production professionals to push creative boundaries. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners who continue to set new standards in live entertainment and to the TPi team and Mondiale that push the boundaries year after year and make this such a truly special and memorable event!”
